I am trying to save an Excel Spreadsheet to d .DBF formatted file.  The date format is being lost. Is there a way I can retain this format.  I am getting "34844" instead of "5/25/95".

This will take the contents of cell A1, a date field and make it into a type general field.

=CONCATENATE(TEXT(MONTH(A1),"00"),"/",TEXT(DAY(A1),"00"),"/",TEXT(YEAR(A1),"0000"))
