How to rebuild Access 2003 mdw
We have here an Access 2003 database built by a developer who left our company years ago. This database hasn't been used for some time but now we need some info from it.
The problem is that we don't have the Admin password for it. We have the original mdw file and the original mdb. We have joined to the mdw and of course when we open the mdb we are prompted to type a login and password. The only credentials we have are for users, but not Admins, we need that.
Is it possible to rebuild the mdw with a empty password for the admin? I would probably do it by myself if I were able to get the PID for the Admin.
Help!

The PID for Admin is universal. If you join the default Access Workgroup file then there will be no password on the Admin account. Whether or not the Admin account has any privileges in the database is another matter though.
Hi gretarmaro,
If the database has been secured there is no (legal) way to retrieve the admin password.
If it's just info that you need ,try going in as a user.
Good Luck!

I disagree. The password for user Admin can always be reset by joining the default Access Workgroup file.
I meant the user with Admin rights
