Visual SourceSafe 6.0 vs VSS 2005

Dear Experts,

Currently I am working with Visual Studio 6, 2003, 2005 using SourceSafe 6.0
I am on minimum budget and need to buy Visual Studio 2008.
Do I need to buy Visual SourceSafe 2005 too? or I still can use SourceSafe6.0 ?

What are the advantages and disadvantages if I use Visual Studio 2008 project on SourceSafe2005 or SourceSafe6.0?

Kindly advise :)

Thank you,
Aciang

As far as I know Micorosft Visual Source Safe is bundled with visual Team suite but it is not bundled when we purchase Visual Studio 2008 professional,

and Visual Team Suite is sold separately too..
Visual Team Suite is very expensive, I see it at this url:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vsts2008/products/cc263908.aspx

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you.

You, my friend, are not wrong, it is quite expensive, but very cool!!  I get it free with my MSDN Team Suite edition.

I will have to compare the versions to find out about VSS.

Bob

I didn't see any sourcesafe with my VS 2008 pro.
