application services are crashing on windows 2003 server -- one app is backup exec

This server is an SQL server.  It has 2 services (so far) that are crashing for no apparent reason.  One of these is a Backup Exec service, the other is a service that looks for and move documents into a Document Management app.

WHat do the event viewer logs show?

Unfortunately there are no related events in the log.  In addition, going to Services shows that the service is started, but I can get the app to begin working properly when I "stop" the service then "start" it again.  But it will fail within a 1/2 hour again.
Enable debug logging on the Backup Exec service in question:

Hey!  One problem solved.  Backup Exec problem was an intermittant tape drive failure.

The other service I have no clue on and neither does Tech Support.  Its related to CCH Pfx Document software and the service is called TaxDocuWatch.  Fails without messages and Windows doesn't recognize that it has stopped running.  Not sure what I can do with this one, since there is virtually no diagnostics data for it.
