Winbind Problem With Secret - cannot authenticate with AD

We can start Winbind and it shows its running.

wbinfo -t
checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed
error code was NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR (0xc00000e5)
Could not check secret

wbinfo -u
Error looking up domain users

wbinfo -p
Ping to winbindd succeeded on fd 4

Appears to be a problem with the secret file. Previous system admins set this up, so we do not know Linux well.

Please help

All these links are dead... posting links rather than solutions is really annoying.
Drakimor, these links were working when I posted them. Besides I pasted the links for below reasons;

1- I did not resolve the issue but the people in the mentioned links solved it. So I am not taking any credit away from them.
2- I can easily find the solution part and paste it from the links, but most of the time there are many other things discussed in the links which the asker of question finds Interesting and his knowledge is extended.

So try to look at rationally.

I know it's an old post, but you can sometimes find the old links through archive.org

I was looking for this, so I thought I'd update the links that still work.
