How do I setup Linux CUPS to print as a text printer not PostScript

I would like to have Linux output Text instead of Postscript.  When I tried outputting either the sample page when the printer is defined or print a file from gpedit, the output comes out as PS.
I need to be able to define reports coming from ERP systems as text for later processing on a Windows system.

I tried model=raw and I still got PS.

A solution across all Linux systems would be great.

the point is that the originating program should output your stuff into text. Unix in general prefers to transfer anything to be printed in postscript, so basically the stuff you hand over to cups is normally postscript on linux (though it can be text too).

If you can't make your app output text, then you can still try and extract the text from the postscript file, but that is only possible when the text is not bitmapped before generating the postscript file.

Can most ERP systems like SAP, Oracle etc be setup to generate text output?
probably you are venturing the wrong way, because if you use ERP systems, you will have a database in the background and therefore you can query the db, when you need to process information in a way that the ERP system does not provide an interface to. Most likely you can also extend your ERP system to give you access in the way you need it. Though without a high level understanding of your ERP system this will not be possible in complex cases, because you will need in depth knowledge of your ERP system(s).
my software is middleware between an ERP system for reformatting output to restructured electronic forms.  We look to provide the power to theend user. .   I need to be ableto capture output as text for that.h  how can I do that
