Ers program not found skipping AUTOCHECK

On boot, a laptop says "Ers program not found skipping AUTOCHECK" on a blue background screen (like the one for checkdisk) then boots up normall.

How do we get the Ers program not found skipping AUTOCHECK screen to go away?

Hi,
you can use HijackThis or some of the SysInternals tools (www.sysinternals.com - then it is redirected to the Microsoft pages) to find what is running at the start. Or you can simply try to find text string ers by regedit.

ASKER

Well yes, that's a given. I need to know what ERS is. The issue is that it is not running via HKLM\....\run or runonce, or anything that is in the normal place.

It is starting before Windows starts. That's what is so interesting.

To clarify: it is starting after bootstrap and before Windows like Partition Magic or checkdisk after a reboot.
what is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager" ?
