How do I get and configure sendmail for AIX?

My RISC box does not seem to have sendmail. I want to be able to send email from it. How do I get sendmail and set it up?

Running "lssrc -s sendmail" gets me...

Subsystem         Group            PID     Status
 sendmail         mail             6256    active

and...
startsrc -s sendmail gets me...

0513-029 The sendmail Subsystem is already active.
Multiple instances are not supported.

Which I figured would happen but I wanted to run it anyway in case you knew something I did not.

So sendmail is installed, active and running. Now I just edit "/etc/sendmail.cf" to get it working?

How simple or complex is editing the sendmail.cf? I have read that you are not supposed to directly edit that file. You should have another sendmail.** file have a dummy sendmail.cf file created?
