Error when trying to manage Public Folders

I get the following error when trying manage Public Folders in System Manager.

"The operation failed because of an http error 501 (not implemented). Verify that the exadmin virtual root exists on the destination server.
ID no: c1030af7"

The odd thing is that if I refresh enough times or close System Manager and open it several times, it eventually works.

I did the steps called out here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839744 and it worked the first time then the same problem.

Any thoughts?

I would start with recreating the virtual directories.

Thanks Simon, I actually did do that and have been getting the same results. Sorry for not being clear about what I have done already.
After resetting the virtual directories did you make any changes to the virtual directories at all?

I just recreated the directories then went to system manager which worked the first time, but not the second.
That would tend to point to something changing the server configuration.
What else is on the machine?

It is running Sharepoint as well. Besides that, its pretty vanilla.
Sharepoint?
Has Sharepoint just been installed? Sharepoint will screw up OWA functionality. As Public Folder access goes in through OWA that can cause issues.

Sharepoint is running and has been for a few years. Nothing has changed in the config on either Sharepoint (which no one really uses by the way) or Exchange. So it is odd that this problem just poped up.
