Windows XP Firewall GPO Template (ADM) for Windows 2000 Server DC

Hi!

How is it possible to apply GPO for Windows Firewall in a Windows 2000 Server? I tried to import a template file from an XP machine but it didn't work.

OK, I've downloaded a Windows XP SP2 gpo template. It ouldn't install on Windows 2000 Server. Also, gpmc doesn't work on Windows 2000 server. Is there a way to run the policy on Windows 2000 Server DC to disable firewall on client machines?

I still couldn't find a solution. Is there another way to disable or manage Windows XP SP2 Firewall from Windows 2000 DC?
Can you not just install GPMC on an XP admin station - then connect to the domain, and change the appropriate settings...

Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Network, Network Connections and then Windows Firewall
(in the GPO editor)

Domain profile is the one you want - standard is for "off the network".

the problem is that I need to configure this policy in the remote office. I have an access only to server (win2k). Domain is also different from the domain in our head office, so I can't deploy group policy from my domain controller.

OK. If I can't use the group policy in this case, is there a login script that I can add to user accounts so that their firewall will be disabled?
