Adding wireless laptop to existing wired network

Hi

I have  a wired network, using a D-Link Gigabit switch, with one port connected to a D-Link router which has 4 wired ports and wireless also.  The wired network works fine and internet access is fine also.
I want to be able to connect a laptop with a Netgear wireless card.  I find that I can connect OK using WEP, and get internet access through the router and its wireless port, but although I can ping the wired network machines OK [and Vice versa] I cannot see the network or connect to it.

The laptop is set to the same workgroup.  Any ideas what I need to do to be able to log onto the fixed network from the laptop?

If you're able to draw an ip with the network cable, try re-joining the workgroup,

Change Workgroup to something else, restart, put workgroup back, restart..

Hi

Thanks for the comment, but I'm not quite sure what you mean "draw an IP with the network cable?"
Sorry, if you type ipconfig in cmd on problem laptop, and pull the same ip range as the other working pc's.  I would try changing workgroup name, restart, puit back workgroup name, restart..

want to make sure it's pulling the same gateway, sub, ip etc. as the other machines.

OK

I'll try this, but it'll be tomorrow before I get the chance.
