3COM Officeconnect configuration for PPTP VPN
3Com® OfficeConnect® Cable/DSL Router / Product #: 3CR858-91
I have this router connected at my office and want to be able to have remote workers connect to the LAN. I setup the VPN by enabling PPTP then entering an IP address pool with start and end address, then I added a VPN Connection:
Tunnel Type=PPTP
Tunnel Name=myname
Username= myusername
password=mypassword
PPTP Type setting = PPTP Server ( my other option is PPTP client)
this configuration works for one telecommuter. but when I try to add another VPN connection and enable it, I get an error saying "Only can enable 1 PPTP server".
So my question is how can I configure this so that I can have many remote workers connect at the same time? and with unique logins?
Also another question I have is about the IP Address Pool for PPTP clients. my Office LAN IP address is 10.0.0.1 but when I tried to make my IP address pool say 10.0.0.200 - 240 it would not let me, I had to make the IP pool 10.0.1.200 -240 in order for it to work, so why can it use 10.0.0.200 - 240 ?
Thanks!
