Exchange 2003 user account

Dear Experts,
I have a very strange issue; we have a customer email account that is exist for several years, and was working fine. Now after moving the account to a new server (Exchange 2003) the account stopped working.
When I check under users and computers I see the user account, include the email address I also see the user in the global address book. However I cannot find the account under mailboxes in Exchange 2003 system manager. I tried accessing the acocunt from OWA and from MS Outlook and was not able too.
I cannot restore from backup, my backup does not backup individual mailboxes.
How can I recover this mailbox?
Thank you
Roy

You can recover the information store to a recovery storage group.  Once that is done you can use exmerge to grab the mailbox and move it into the existing mail store.

Thank you for all your responds.
When doing the Recovery Storage Group will I be able to select one user? or I need to to all of them, I have more the 11,000.
The old Exchange server was 2000.
Roy
No you need to restore the whole information store DB i.e. for all users. You can not select one user using recover to RSG.

I am sorry for the late reply here.
I am kind of fearful to restore the whole storage for one mail box, I did follow the article and created a recovery however when I am trying to mount the database I get a message that it will create new logs.
Am I in the right direction?
Thank you
Roy
Yes, you are correct. The RSG needs a new log file storage location and it will store the logs on the specified location that you would have provided while creating RSG.

OK, than after I mounted the database I just need to conect to it with the Exchange marge tool and try to restore the mailbox?
Roy.
Yes. You can use Exmerge to directly merge to the new mailbox or export the old mailbox to a pst file and give it to the user to access/copy mails from pst whichever required.
