how to find sort order in SQL 2000

I will preface this by saying that I have very little experience with SQL.  We are moving our Microsoft Great Plains database/software from a server with SQL 2000 to and new server with SQL 2005.  We have a consultant doing the database migration but I did the install of SQL 2005 on the new server not knowing that the sort order needs to be the same on the new server as it is on the old server.  I'm sure I chose whatever the default was because I don't remember seeing anything about sort order during the install.  I was able to run a query with sp_helpsort on the SQL 2005 server and get the sort order.  When I try to run the same query on the SQL 2000 server it tells me the command completed successfully and that is all.  I have already removed SQL 2005 from the new server so I can reinstall with the correct sort order but I don't know the sort order of the SQL 2000 server.  What am I doing wrong?  Shouldn't the sp_helpsort query on the SQL 2000 server return some sort of result?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
