Upgrade to Exchange 2007

I am interested in upgrading to Exchange 2007 but I have read that there is no upgrade path and that I basically need to install a new server then migrate existing mail boxes to the new server.

Is this correct or is there a quicker way to upgrade?

The ONLY deployment path is a new server an swing migration. You cannot install Exchange 2007 on top of Exchange 2003, and Exchange 2003 doesn't install on to 63 bit OS.

You will want to take your time with the Exchange 2007 deployment anyway, as it is very different from a management perspective.

Ok so that is not an option for me.  I have a new server which has a xeon processor which i belive is only 32 bit. YEs?

Some Xeon's are 64 bit. You will have to check on Intel's web site to see if it is 64 bit and then install 64 bit Windows. if the server is less than 18 months old then it is most likely 64 bit.
