Please help me use less memory

I followed this tutorial for setting up a basic LAMP server based on Debian 4. (http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_debian_etch)

Everything works great, I didnt even install BIND or Postfix, courier or any mail app for that matter. Yet when I run top it seems to be telling me its using over 500MB of memory.

I just want this to be as small as possible prefferable less than 200mb memory used. Is this possible>? what could I do to optimize this better?

Please provide output from command
free

Note, that linux will use as much memory as possible. Unused memory is lost memory, therefore it's better to use it as large cache of buffers.

Thank you! I guess at first glance I thought it was misleading. Showing >400MB used i thought i must have some rouge process or something. Thanks again!
