Hello rcameron464,

How are you moving the directories?  If you copy directories to CDRom, you will cause the directories to be read only.

If you copy through network or use a USB drive, the directories will not become read only.

Hope this helps!
I'd do the following: take ownership of entire homefolder, move it to another server, configure the homedir folder to grant authenticated users full control and then on each of the user personal folder remove all entries from the ACL and put there only the user with full control and possibly administrator.
You can create some bat or vbscript to automate it (don't know how many users you have).

coping over the network.  I think martin's idea will work but have over 320 users.  If anyone knows how to write the batch file to do this i would appreciate it.
I would back them up (we use Veritas) and restore them to the new location, which will also copy permissions.
We did that and it still did not bring the permissions over.
