Experts,

Are there no LTO drives with USB interfaces?  If not, is there some sort of converter?

Is there any way to upgrade a relatively new laptop to SCSI?  Are the USB to SCSI converters reliable?

you can go with SAS devices also
Yes; SAS will become an ubiquitous standard and be around for ages.

Spectralogic have an iSCSI LTO, that ought to be fairly simple to hook up to a laptop assuming it has an Ethernet port.
I've got ADO 2.8 and DAO 3.6.
