Flash (player) caching of image files

I have a flash .swf that is used as a script to "play" (display) a couple of images whose filenames are provided via parameters to the script.

my question is:   is there a mechanism to "prefetch" the image files ahead of need.
For instance, in javascript there's a technique to preload images for rollovers, etc.
I assume that flash has a different cache repository.
Note that i'm not wanting to preload the .swf script itself, but rather the image files that it will (likely) be using.

thanks

thanks!
do you know if this is a per-script-call(activation) cache persistance, or a per-browser session that calls flash and thus between flash calls and web pages/refreshes the cache persists?
it's per activation..as long as the movie is open in the browser..the images will be in flash cache
If you are replacing (refreshing) the movie using html pages (which to me negates what flash is about..ie the seamless experience)..then they will have to reload.
