Why IIS always return action canceled?

i have a asp base chat room site, clients keep refreshing a page to get messages,,
but some time IIS always return action canceled,,

my server was installed ISA,, and ISA returned FWX_E_ABORTIVE_SHUTDOWN for all my http connections, after a little while,IIS return normal, i thought is because ISA 2006 has problems,, then i uninstall ISA,, but the problem still there,, IIS return Action Canceled,

i had tried to modify IIS's Meta.xml to set the aspBuffer  and maxrequestentity to 100 times more, still not fix,,,

and while i'm having problem connect to http, i still can connect to 3389 normally... why?????

my server is windows 2003 R2 with sp 2 i think.

What is a message storage in your chat, is it file based or SQL based?
Cache Base??
uses Application() to save messages..
i can change to sql based, if needed, which one do you recomment?

I suppose some kind of deadlock or stale lock when accessing shared files from different sessions concurrently, that's why your ASP application may hang (I saw similar behavior for that reason).

I recommend you to use any SQL database as a backend, doesn't matter which one, but not MS Access. I'm a Unix guy, so I'd use MySQL (that is also available on Windows) or PostgreSQL.
probably not,, when that happen, i try to telnet to http, but i got disconnected after connected for a couple seconds., i haven't begin to request any thing yet.

and while that happens,, some of the other users are normal,,

Then I have no ideas. May be you have some error messages in IIS logs or in event log?

It is possible that you have too many concurrent connections (run 'netstat -an' and count a number of established connections when you have problems).
but i set unlimited concurrent connect in IIS for that web site.
