Windows 2003 User profiles

In windows 2003, I have all the user profiles in the C:/documents an settings/local setting/<usernames>. Without reinstalling the OS , I would like to change the directory of the userprofile to D:/ i.e. the user profiles to be present in another directory other than the System drive.

You'll need to change the registry keys under
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

It's usually not recommended to change these once a profile is created and normally best practice to change these during Setup using unattend.txt or winnt.sif.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
