Desktop background is white after removing virus

I recently removed a virus/spyware that was directing me to the site ucleaner and opening multiple windows, it also set background for me on my desktop.

I ran the program SmitFraudFix.exe which seems to have removed the virus, but now my backgroud is white and when I check the properties, the file it is referring to is already deleted.  I can't seem to set my background now, any suggestions?

Hi,
>""when I check the properties, the file it is referring to is already deleted""<

Sorry but I'm not sure what you mean by this. If you right click on the desktop and select properties you should get the Display Properties Dialog box. Then you should be able to click the desktop tab and select a new desktop. Where are you getting stuck. Also, let's get a HijackThis log as you may still be infected.

Click on "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. Post the text from the log file. Do not have HJT fix anything at this point.

Please do not post the log into the comment window. Use "Attach File" under the comment window to post the log.

Actually, that solution didn't work exactly, but it got me on the right track.  I went to display properties, Desktop, then Customize Desktop.  I selected the Web tab, and then deleted the profile it was using and it fixed the problem.
Thanks so much for posting the web tab solution.  I needed to do that too.  So glad I subscribe here.
