Reading the Transaction Logs

So, I am curious if anyone has be involved in an ISV project that reads the SQL Server transaction logs?  There are programs such as Lumigent and Apex that are able to read the logs....apparently you have to have permission from MS to be able to do it (, but I am curious to see if anyone has worked on something like this.  I kinda would like to work on something like this as a pet project.

So what's holding you back in contacting your local MS representative? You don't need permission, but without their docs you aren't going to jimp very far.

Personally I believe there is no reason to read logs. If you need auditing, do it the proper way. If you're just curious of course it might be satisfying
