Hamachi becomes unresponsive on Ubuntu

I have come across this a few times now. Some of my installations work, where others ... well...
Take a fresh Ubuntu 7 Server install. Add Hamachi. Do the make install etc routine. Called tuncfg. Then when I run hamachi-init ... Nothing. Other servers I get to go on to hamachi start, join networks, login etc.

Any suggestion as to why some installs behave so very different? (Hardware differences aside, its the same standardised, and I don't install anything before I try the Hamachi install)

OK, there have not been any responses to this question, so let's approach this differently. Has anyone ever installed Hamachi on Linux, only to find that it stops working as soon as you restart the box? And then it just won't respond at all.

sometimes, apparmor creates problems for hamachi. if you are not sentimental about apparmour, uninstall it and hamachi should work fine. it worked for me on ubuntu 7.10. Ubuntu 8.04 worked out of the box.
