There is a known issue with the SP 1 installation for .Net 2.0 that often cuses this error.  There is a hotfix available from Microsoft customer support.  It doesn't look like its publically available yet so you'll have to open a case. What is the KB article relating to this? The link you gave does not mention the hotfix KB number, either.
Does anyone know the hotfix KB to resolve this issue?
I receive these same error messages on a server of mine. It is not a domain controller, just simply running an application.

The server specs are:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Enterprise Edition
Service Pack 1
.NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (installed)
.NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 1 (installed)

The solution is listed as, "Not the Windows Server SP but SP1 for .NET Framework 2.0 installed on you server." and that does not make sense to me.

Can someone please help me out?

Thanks!
