How to use a a converted virtual disk from Symantec System Recovery

Hello,

I am using Symantec System Recovery 7.0.  All is well but I am attmpting to use the "Convert to Virtual Disk Option" and am unsure how to proceed.  I am aslo faily new to VMware so there are some key concepts I am missing.

I am able to convert a recovery point to a virtual disk (a group of virtual disks).  My question is how to make that a functioning virtual machine.  In the conversion process I am left with 4 vmdk files (one for each hard disk).  My problem is what to do with them then.  When I try to open a existing virtual machine I am asked to select a .vmx file (which wasn't created in the conversion process), when I try to create a new virtual machine it creates its own vmdk file.   As I said I am probably missing something fundamental but so far I have not found the answer.  The Symatec website just covers the creation of the vmdk files, which is straight forward.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Todd

You have to choose the option for using a pre existing virtual disk. I will highlight the steps for you..
