Creating a Lotus Notes user.id for a user that has already been registered - no initial user.id created

Is it possible to create a user.id for a Notes NAB entry that has already been created?

(We are using Lotus Notes 7.0.2)

A new user need to be created in the system.  I registered Joe Schmoe and set him up under the San Mateo office certifier.  I chose None for the mail file system, and did not create a user.id file.  I registered the user, and his entry is now in the NAB and all looks correct.

Turns out we need a mail file for Joe, so without having to delete the user and recreate/re-register, is there a way for me to create a user.id from the current NAB entry?

Any help would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, the best way to handle this issue, is to delete existing user record and create new one with the same name.

You can simply create a blank mail file from the stamdard mailx.ntf, and give it the correct ACL, and ownership.

I hope this helps !

Olaraak -- thanks so much.  Kept thinking there would be weird replication conflicts or it would error out if I tried to register with the identical information, but I think that will work.
HI guys

I wont say that the above solutions wont work...but a easier one...go to the administrator side fo Lotus notes, then find th person who would exist in the list of registered people as they have already been registered. Then open their database by double clicking ont heir name and then browse to the OTHER tab and you will find the ID file there. Double click on that and save it to a destination from where you can get the file later.

Now go the user computer and browse to this ID file and copy it in the Lotus/notes/data directory. And this will work. Ofcourse you would need to remeber the password that was given when the user was first created.

Keep It real!!!!
