We currently have an issue with the computer browser service on the server is in a stopped status. &nbsp;Tivilo performs a check every 30 minutes and realises the service is stopped, attempts to start it and the service then immediately stops.<br />

If we manually attempt to start the &quot;computer browser&quot; service, the response from the OS is &quot;The computer browser service on local computer started and then stopped. &nbsp;Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example.......<br />

The event logs contain:<br />
ID: 7035: Service successfully sent a start control<br />
ID: 7036: Service successfully entered the running state<br />
ID: 7036: Service entered the stopped state.<br />

All this happens in under a second.<br />

This problem first appeared when the system crashed and restarted. &nbsp;I have since restarted the server cleanly. &nbsp;This problem is not related to any firewall issue.

Computer browser starts and immediately stops.  NO error messages

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server.
