asked on original fonts and settings
I recently updated my computer with the service pack and have now got the wrong fonts. I have unfortunately messed things up worse by trying to fix it. How do I resotre the orignal settings. My explorer pages are not fitting the screen also and I have tried fixing the options and encoding, but no change. I have also done a system restore to an earlier date and again...no help.

Have you tried re-adjusting the resolution back? Start --> Control Panel -->Display Settings --> Make your resolution bigger, something like 1280 by 1024
what specifically is out of whack?

I did make the resolution bigger and that still didn't work. How do I do a screen capture? I am a true NEWBIE at this stuff! Thanks.

try this
go back to display setting and use the "themes" tab and change the themes arounsd to see if one of the themes suits you better.
to specifically change the fonts... go to the "appearance" tab, then "advanced"

Everything is way too small...I have changed the fonts, but for some reason I keep making them smaller. I am just trying to find out what the default setting is so that I can put those into the settings. On the web pages the writing is overlapping also so that I have a hard time reading it.
that is the settings tab in display properties,.. move the bar at the bottom to the left

also if you jsut want to change internet explorer,. in the bottom right you see "100%" you can change the size there as well

Yeah...I'm sorry to be a pain, but I have tried all of that. I think I'm going to just have to restore the whole thing to factory settings...thanks though..

oh, and to take a screen capture you hit <alt>- printscrn
the printescreen button is usually above the insert key on the keyboard
then you paste the image into another program, usually mspaint.

Actually, the fonts are too small...i'm attaching a screen capture I have done all the enlarging and changing of the text sizes, but they all just reset back too smaill. I'm just kind of learning to deal with it right now. The web pages that used to fill the screen now all have borders on the edges and all the links and writing are all scrunched together to.
