server nsf file deleted. Want to recover from local replica

I recently deleted the \domino\data\mail\elloco40.nsf file from the Notes Server. I have a local copy (replica) in my notebook that I use for offline working. I simply tried to copy the local .nsf file to the server but it didn't work. Can someone tell me how to recover the server file from the local copy?

That should work, putting the copy simply in the mail directory on the server! Important: you have to end your local Notes session completely BEFORE you make the copy. Notes keeps database data in memory, as a cache.

So:
- shutdown your Notes
- try to delete the database you created on the server using the Admin client
- if that doesn't work, type on the Domino console
      dbcache flush
- then delete the database manually
- now, make a copy from the local PC to the server
- and put the database in the right place
- in the Admin client, open the mail folder on the server, and verify that the database is there
- finally, try File/Replication/Find Replica, select the server and click OK
