When the installation process is deploying reports, it failes with the following message:
Report configuration failed.
Verify that SQL Server Reporting Services is installed properly and that it is running.

We have installed the DPM using the default instance of SQL Server Standard 2005 on the computer (MSSQLSERVER). When we bring up the ReportService.amx in a web browser, it shows a bunch of code. I have attached the file.
I found a specific reference to what Error Code 812 is at this site: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb808755.aspx
Sharepoint is not installed on this computer and the Rsactivate process has been eliminated in the 2005 version of SQL.

I acknowledge that I am making things more difficult than they need to be. I do not desire to have multiple instances of SQL server running on my SQL server. I don't know why Microsoft has to make things more complicated than they need to be. If Microsoft's DPM Server doesn't work with Sharepoint, then why don't they setup IIS the way it needs to be setup in order to run? I only have 2 servers. Microsoft would have me run a separate computer for each Web Server, SQL Server, File Server, Print Server, Exchange Server, Sharepoint Server, & ISA Server. I am left with dealing with all the problems associated with a Small Business. I support small businesses of the same type, so it's important that I figure this out using the limited hardware & software resources available. I may give in at some point however, I'm not there just yet. :)

Still looking for help on this... Any ideas??

Ok... I gave up and installed it using the default settings.
In my case this error occurred because the firewall on the SQL Server was blocking the ports necessary for SQL Reporting Services, 80 and 443
Do you get a HTTP error code or not?
If you get an HTTP error code you may want to inspect the log files in C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFil
The HTTP code, but mainly the Windows Status code just after the HTTP code may lead you closer to a solution.
