No display, pc "emergency" 4 sec power off not working

My Pc last night showed no display on the monitor so i pressed the power button for 4 secs and nothing happened. I then unplugged the pwr cord and replugged. I then pushed the power button and the pc turns on but no display and once turned on, I cannot turn the computer off. The hard drive activity light is solid red.

It was working fine not 3 minutes before this happened.

Your power supply may have died, but it may also have damaged other components like the motherboard in the process.  Try to find a compatible one with at least as much power to swap in, as an initial test.

Unfortunately, most parts that break don't give you any warning that they are about to fail, so never use this as a criteria.

Power supply is only a month old. The system powers up fine, just doesnt power off.

I am not getting post information which leads me to believe the BIOS became corrupt. I ordered new bios chips and I will wait and see.

This has happened in the past and bios was the culprit. No display, no post, etc, swapped bios and all worked ok.

This Asus mobo p4c800-e has giving me problems. I RMA'd the mobo 1 time already and they sent back saying the mobo was fine.
