I wanted to back up my mailbox and keep the backup on my local computer c drive. So i went into outlook and selected export to a pst file. I completed this operation and all seemed well. Now however our IT guys changed my computer to a new domain which created a new profile etc and now i cant find my exported file anywhere on this pc, what could have happened to it and how do i get it back?
cheers

The exported file is most likely still on the pc under your old profile. If you have admin rights, you can navigate to the old user profile's folders and pull it from there. If you don't have admin rights, you'll have to have someone from your IT department log in with admin credential and copy the file for you.

Perhaps you had a roaming profile that got saved to the server you logged on to. Get the IT guys to search in your old profile on the server for that pst file. Then just copy it into the new profile and import it.
You say you've done a search of the C drive. A couple of things there - first, make sure you have admin permissions, if you don't, you won't be able to see the entire drive. Second, in the Search window open Tools -> Folder options. Click on the View tab. Make sure you have "Show hidden files and folders" option selected, and remove the check mark in front of "Hide protected operating system files". Then try your search again.

One other thing - check with your IT dept, ask if they deleted the old profile from your workstation when the new profile was set up.
