Is there a safe way to remove " Directory Service log, File Replication Service log after demoting a DC

Demoted Server from domain controller to stand alone server and the event logs still show and are recording messages for Directory Service log, File Replication Service log.  I turned off the file replication service and it did not seem to impact the server in anyway but that stopped that.  Is there a way to get rid of these completely?  Also there was no service listed for the directory service log.

Can I save those files and also just cut/paste the registry entries and put them back if something messes up? Will anything mess up if I do this?  I am running IIS 6.0 also but it does not use these logs.

Yes, you should be able to export the entries and re-import them if there's a problem.  Deleting the .evt files is optional.
