Vista won't run my program - I double click and nothing happens

I remoted-connected into someone's PC (using GoTOMyPC).
I attempted to install a program over there.  Vista wouldn't run my installer.  It just sat there, as if I hadn't double-clicked.  I may have gotten an hour-glass for a few seconds.
So, I figured, it doesn't like my installer.  So I manually copied the application over there.  I then attempted to run the program.  Again, Vista totally ignores my douible-click.
I did check and he does have Account Protection (or whatever it's called) turned off.  Another situation required it be turned off.
I tired rebooting - no relief
I tried compatibility mode - no relief.

Thanks for these extra points.  I wrote both the application and the installer.  I know what files constitute an install of this particular program.  It doesn't even write to the registry - and I install it all the time over remote connections.  What is New here is Vista.  I am about to try the "own" technique offered above.  thank you.

You might try right clicking the install file and run as administrator

I tired that already too.  It also failed.  Are you thinking that YOungerMy's suggestion above won't work.  I am going to try it now.

Have you written your program and installer to work on Vista?

Have you ever installed on Vista?

I am unable to connect to that machine right now - maybe it is asleep or somebody turned it off.  I will try
Youngrmy's suggestion above - ASAP.  Feel free to add alternate suggestion in the interim.  Thanks.

I have installed successfully before on Vista.  In fact I have a Vista machine here with the program installed.

NP, take your time, the question will not be marked as abandoned till 21 days after the last post.  And if it is marked all you have to do is post again saying still working on it.

Not abandoned - there has been some delay in being able to test.  Please remain patient.  Thanks
