Bingo! &nbsp;No upper filters present but deletion of lower filters did the trick.<br />

A Dell XPS 410 has an internal Sony CD/DVD RW that has a yellow asterisk in front of it in Device Manager. &nbsp;Uninstalled, rebooted, and installed via Plug and Play twice, still yellow asterisk. &nbsp;Went to Plan B which was an external CD/DVD RW by HP. &nbsp;Same result, same attempts to fix. &nbsp;The internal player is SATA the external player is USB.<br />
