New / first exchange 2003 but need pop hosted mail domain name without ...

Experts need some advise ands ideas on how to handle the following.  We are using hosted pop mail users@popdmain.com in our outlook clients.  THe new/first exchange 2003 will have mail addresses using the sam @popdomain.com.   I can not  think of a way to transition some of the 35 users over using their existing address by using/setting up the MX record wthout causing the pop mail addresses to stop working.  I'm not sure this will be doable, but basically the goal is to use the same domain name ie MX record but not have the hosted pop emaill addresses stop working?

Advise.

Thanks,

Peakpeak,

Maybe you can comment on the behavior I'm having so far in my attempts to get this to work, based on trying to test my new/first exchange server on my nw with a test@hostedpopdomaintoo.com  I have added mail.hostedpopdomaintoo.com zone to my internal dns server. To that I've add both an a and mx record to the internal echange.  I checked the MX record for my hosted pop mailed mainted through the cpanel for my hosted pop mail and it's set to priority 10 and there is a mail.hostedpopdomaintoo.com  entry pointing to their hosted servers.  I set my mx record on my server pointing to my internal server to 8.
I can send and recieve mail to test@hostedpopdomaintoo.com  when sent/replied to/from hotmail.com but not from another user@hostedpopdomaintoo.com (ie a pop hosted address) .

Any ideas/suggestions in a change I should make.  I'm getting a 5.3.5 error "...caused mail to bounce between server or forwarded b/w two recipients" error.   I get what's happen, but right this second unclear on resolution.

Thanks!
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.
