Can't copy encrypted file back to a newly re-built machine ?

Dear Experts
I copied/backed up files from a clients machine without realizing that some were encrypted!
Then I performed a 'clean install' of WXP Pro on it.
Maybe she has the 'key', but regardless...........is there a way to at least copy the files back to her machine?

Some encrypted file recovery solutions, including a manual one utilizing a hex editor and filemon... not for the faint of heart, but doable.

good luck!

THANKS   If she doesn't have the KEY, I'm going to try the Elcomsoft software if she's desperate!
I'll let you know if that works!

Agree - as the EEhelp files used to say - "sometimes the answer is "You can't do that"" :(
