AD and Shared Folders

Hi

within ad if i create links in there to my shared folders via right clicking and selecting create new shared folder and pointing to the share location on whatever server, does this add the shared folder and it entire contents to the ad and would that ad controller in turn try and replicate the shared folders and there entire contents to other ad contollers in the same sites or in all sites?

Hi,
it's not working like that. The shared folder will be published in AD so the users can search for these folders more effectivly (e.g. via keywords) withiut knowing, where is this folder physically located.
But it has nothing with replicating the contents of those folders.

Hi,
I agree with martin, only the link and the description gets published and replicated. You can reed more info on how resources are published in AD here:
