The internet link icons placed on the Desktop show a generic icon not the intended graphic.

This has worked properly on all previous Windos versions. Maybe there is a setting somewhere to allow the Internet graphic to display on the dektop. In Internet Explorer you can send a link of the page being viewed to the desktop.

Hi Masked,
Even though my O/S is Vista and the link is for XP, I tried the registry tweak and it did not install; something about some keys being used. I had all programs closed.

There must be a setting somewhere?

Sorry, didn't see you were on Vista.. I should pay more attention.

Hmm, reading through it again, is it just IE links on your desktop that don't show the graphic?

Yes.
I can slect the icon, go to properties and change the graphic to one of the many windows graphics. This latter works.

Example. I'm in Experts Exchange website. In IE I select File | Send | Shortcut to Desktop
The icon shows a generic graphic and not Experts Exchange graphic. ?????
