Cannot empty outlook deleted box of folder with MANY sub folders

Hello,

This is a major priority for me as it is causing my backup of exchange to fail.

The issue is one of my users has moved a sub folder into the deleted box. The issue is this folder seems to repeat itself hundreds of times in sub folder after sub folder and has security locked on it all the way down. The path goes on for ever! (See tree1.jpg)

I would like to simply delete this/empty her deleted box, but I get this error (see error1.jpg) or errors about to many to delete. I then go down the tree and delete half. This then puts that tree in the deleted box again. And the cycle repeats.

I have tried changing permissions, but cannot get it to propagate to the hundreds of sub folders. The user cannot explain how they produced this issue.

Is there a way to go into exchange and force her box to empty? Maybe recipient policies?
