Hosted mail puts extension in front of email address and so mail is rejected

We have sbs exchange 2003 and our mail is hosted externally. Exchange uses pop connector to collect from a catch all account and deliver mail globally. Problem is hosts change addressed mail to 'alias -ourdomain-user@domain.com' instead of user@domain.com. This mail then generates a non delivery as exchange is set to filter by recipients.
I could add this address manually to each user but I am thinking there must be a quicker way.
Any suggestions?

Thanks Johan for your suggestion. I have add the added prefix to the users addresses and tested so it is working at this stage but it is messy. To add new users I have to give them 3 addresses. Using SMTP delivery is preferable and I will look into it. This set up has been working for several years with a product called FTGate and exchange has only recently been introduced. FTGate had an option to strip the prefix.
I have seen FTGate before, long time ago. I am pleased you have a plan.
