Adding new HD to DL380 using Raid 5
I have HP server DL 380 running on Raid 5 with three Hard Disk 36G and I want to upgrade the size of the Hard Disks so I will add to other hard disk on the server to be 5 Hard disks.
- Are the server will prepare them automaticly?
- Should those two hard disks be the same size of the old ones?
- is there is any Steps I should follow?
just I know I have to shift the old three HD and and the new two to be the first.
please advice

Ok If I want to do that how I could do it on the right way without go to risk or casue data curruption
by other words: adding the two new Hdisk before the old three on the array or after and is the system will prepare them by itself.

so can I use 2 type of RAID 5 & 1 on one server at the same time?
Yes, (depending on your controller, as a caveat). Here's an adaptec screen showing a RAID 5 and RAID 1 on the same controller:

Also, ALWAYs do a Backup before starting (by Imaging if your prefer).
I have seen some very intolerant RAID controllers not allowing dynamic additions etc....
