Client computers not showing up in the Symantec Antivirus System Console

We have installed Symentec System Console as well as the Symantec Antivirus server on computer.  When we role out the client from ths workstation to the other computers on the network they seem to be installing but are not.  If you go to these specific clients, it still has another server as the parent server.  Also if you manually install on a computer by going through the vphome folder and going to the clinet install, it will show up with the correct parent server but will not show up in the System Console.  I am not sure what us going on and what we may be doing wrong.

I encountered this problem before and its very much related to the certificate of the SAV in the clients and in the server. Both seems to not be the same.

My suggestion, do away with SAV 10.0 and upgrade all of them to Endpoint Security 11.0 MR2.

i have seen this with clients older than 9.0 if you roll the antivirus from the symantec server to a client that is currently running any version lower than 9.0 The installation will fail. to remedy this issue you must remove any version lower than 9.0 or move the clients 9.0 or newer to the new server then roll out the new av to the client. no other work arount to my knowledge.

you can copy the cert files over manually (also requires a reg mod)

or you can copy over the GRC.DAT file to
program files\SAV\Symantec AntiVirus
