I have ArcServe tapes that were backed-up from a Novell 5.2 server. We are unable to retrieve the data from those tapes (not urgent but would like to get a few files) because the server has more or less died. I installed the trial version on Arcserve Backuy r12 on a Windows 2003 server and tried to restore the tapes, but from research determined that you could not restore across platforms. (I mergered the tape and Arcserve recognizes the catalog of the tape) . Then I created a new Novell 5.0 server with minimal information, installed Novell client on Windows 2003 server and tried to restore the Novell tape to that Novell server. ArcServe recognizes the new Novell server and starts to initiate a restore to that server but the restore fails. I still get the same error message I was getting when I tried to restore the Windows server. I tried restoring by session, by tree, but no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can connect to the Novell client with no problems; I can configure the Restore wizard exactly as I want it. But when I run the restore the following error messages occur:
AE123 - Failed to login to TSA on Server R-FS2
AE3124 - Failled to logout of TSA on Server R-FS2
AE3122 - Failed to release TSA on Server R-FS2
AE3179 - No SMS connection
I have tried all the suggestions in the ArcServe help that applied to each error above.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
