backup exec 10d- No appendable media could be mounted.
Hello,
I have a problem on Backup Exec 10d. When trying to run a duplicate backup to tape job I keep getting the following error message:
No appendable media could be mounted.
V-79-57344-33037 - Error - Mount failed.
Physical Volume Library Media not found.
I have tried 3 different tapes now so I doubt it is faulty media. There is no data on the tape as I had run a quick erase on it. After running the erase job the tape is put into scratch media, but for some reason the tape is labelled as not appendable. It used to show Infinite- Allow append.
If anyone has any ideas what might be causing this any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Richard,
The doc that talks about the the scratch media not being appendable was helpful. As soon as I move the media out of scratch into another media pool the label changes to allow append. This doesn't look like it was my problem though as the drive still could not be mounted after making this change.
I have changed the job to overwrite if no appendable media could be found, which seems to have sorted the problem. However I am still a little confused why this has just started happening all of a sudden. The jobs have been running for over a year with no problems with the setting "terminate job if no appendable media is found" so I don't know what has caused it to stop working.
