GroupWise will not open sent email properties - hangs on "File Download - Security Warning" for .tmp file

This is a Windows XP Pro SP2 computer running GroupWise client 7e.
When I go to the sent folder to see if an email has been opened, etc. by someone - as I have for years - I get a pop-up that tells me the following:

"File Download - Security Warning"
"Do you want to save this file or find a program online to open it?"

The file is the usual .tmp file that GroupWise uses in this case.

There was normally no File Association with .tmp files in Windows as they are used by many programs.  I believe that is still the case.  I have no association as such in my Folder Options.

I know this is most likely a Windows issue and as I am writing this I am thinking perhaps I should have posted this in a different area (please let me know if that is the case).

This a Dell 4700 P4 machine with 2GBs of RAM and plenty of hard drive.  I am running Symantec Corporate Antivirus and not much else to speak of . . .

Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks!

have you ever tried to see what the heck is inside the small, strange file? you may do this by simply dragging this .temp file into a NOTEPAD window.

if it is a text file, please paste the content here.

if it is a binary file, please paste the screenshot here.
It's not a file he's looking at when he views the Properties of a Sent Mail.
yes, i knew. that's why i mentioned it was a strange file.

IMO, analyzing the content would help us to determine where is the problem from.

I already uninstalled/reinstalled the client (including deletion of Novell/GW directory).

The temp file is the way GW handles viewing the properties - this is normal.  The pop-up is not.  I am sure this must be something to do with Windows Seciurity (the pop-up has the golden shield of doom on it).

do you mean that you had done this before you posted this question?
> do you mean that you had done this before you posted this question?

Yes, i had already done that - sorry for not making that clear.
I also have tested the account on another PC and it works fine, the problem is just on this.
I will try to get the tmp file contents ASAP and post them.
Interesting that it doesn't break on another PC. Which suggests that the root issue is not the contents of the tmp file, but software on the PC.
The tmp file seems to disappear right away (or maybe is never there?).

It does not show on the working machine either.  There are other files and directories associated with GroupWise in the local settings\temp folder, but not that file.
just keep watching...
Nothing has changed, but I finally got the temp file.
I have attached it (as a zip) in case it helps.  It is not a text file.
OK, I had to rename it as a txt file to add here.
GW-00001.TXT
Still happening.  Still looking for help - next step is to format/reinstall Windows.

How do you change the association of C:\Novell\GroupWise\OFViews\adv_prop.xls from IE to GroupWise?
Easiest fix I found later was:

Get the file from your install CD under \client\win32\ofviews\win\adv_prop.xsl and copy the file to your local C:\Novell\GroupWise\OFViews\win\
I have copied a fresh adv_prop.xls from the CD. I also changed the file association of C:\Novell\GroupWise\OFViews\adv_prop.xls from IE to GroupWise grpwise.exe but this did not  correct the problem. Am I missing anything here? Which Groupwise exe should I associate with?
It's an .xsl file, not .xls like in MS Excel, so just change file association for all .xsl files from Internet Explorer to grpwise.exe
