How to remove an Exchange 2007 server and store when server is no longer present

I have an Exchange server that crashed and is no longer present and wont be coming back.  I want to remove it (name and store) from the exchange 2007 domain.  RIght now the server is still showing and I cant remove the objects associated with the old server, becuase it cant find it to remove it.  Is there a way I can go and remove these objects?

thank you very much...I need to figure out which will be easier, rebuild or restore to new servers..thanks again.  I at least know there is no easy fix.
Our environment is with Exchange running on VIrtual servers.  I have this exact situation.  The problem is, I have tried the setup /m:RecoverServer process twice and both times this process failes trying to start the Transport Service.  My only recourse is to build new virtual servers as it appears that the RecoverServer makes just enough registry entries to prevent a reprocessing.  I saw that there was an option to NOT START the Transport Services.  Are they required to be running so that I can run Add/Remove programs to perform the final removal from our AD organization?
