Looking for quality RSS feed reader that includes "pop up" notification - trying to avoid to Google Desktop
I'm not a big user of RSS feeds so I'm not really up-to-date on what the hot RSS readers are these days.
My VP had been using Google Desktop for RSS feeds. He liked the periodic "pop up" notification upon arrival of new info. Due to performance issues on our Exchange Server, Microsoft suggested that we not use Google Desktop (or any desktop search tool) in our environment. So I uninstalled Google Desktop from his PC. But he's looking for an alternative reader now.
So, in a nutshell, trying to avoid Google Desktop, but looking for a quality RSS reader that offers "pop up" snippets of new news. (For a Windows XP Pro PC in a Windows 2003 environment.)
Thanks.

I opted to use NewsGator Desktop. I installed it for my VP and also installed it on my own PC. Seems adequate, but I guess there's no shortage of others. I told my VP we could try others if he didn't care for this one.
