Sporadic printing problem with PDF files on HP 4200N LaserJet Printer

When printing PDF files of invoices from a corporate application on an HP LaserJet 4200N printer the wrong characters are sometime printed on the correct place on the page. This problem only affects the parts of the page  which are not templates: the fixed areas reproduce correctly. The problem is sporadic: the file may print OK from a different computer or if another attempt is made to print.

PDF files are printed using Adobe 6.0.1 running on Windows 2000 Professional. The printer is attached to a machine also running Windows 2000 Professional. The drivers used for the printer are for the HP 4200L printer.

An example of a file which does not print correctly is attached.

Not too sure if it would help, but the first thing I would do is update to the latest version of acrobat, and also ensure your print driver is up to date....

Hp printer have problem with PDF and Excel files. Make sure you have the latest driver on the PC and the latest firmware in the printer.

Are you using the postscript driver? If not give that a shot along with updating adobe to the latest version if possible.
